The General Directorate of Immigration granted an extension for all DIMEX (Immigration Identity Document for Foreigners) of Permanent Residents, Temporary Residents and Special Categories, and of “Estancias”, until September 30th, 2022. This extension will apply to the DIMEX that expired after October 1st, 2021.
Once the above mentioned extension period (September 30th 2022) expires, the DIMEX must be renewed during the following three months, according to the ordinary process.
The General Directorate of Immigration will attend the DIMEX renewal appointments that are scheduled between January 11th and January 21st of 2022. However, as of January 22nd, no renewal process will be carried out.
In case that the person has made the renewal deposit, can personally request at the Immigration offices the return of their deposit, as of the second week of January.
