The General Directorate of Immigration sent yesterday a reminder to the rest of the government institutions with the extension rules regarding following DIMEX (residency cards) categories:
PERMANENT RESIDENTS:
All foreign persons who have a category of permanent residents, without determining when the expiration of the DIMEX occurred, have their residency card extended until September 30th, 2022. However, the non-renewal fine of US$3 per month, since the moment of the expiration, must be canceled at the time of renewal.
TEMPORARY RESIDENTS AND SPECIAL CATEGORIES:
All foreigners who have a category of temporary residents and special categories, whose document expired after October 1st, 2021, have their residency card extended until September 30th, 2022.
ESTANCIA PERMIT (Non-Resident, Estancia Subcategory)
All foreigners who have a subcategory of “Estancia”, whose document expired after October 1st, 2021, have their card extended until July 31, 2022.
